26th Annual Cotton & Rural History Conference


For those who were unable to attend in person, below is the recording of both Dr. Perkins' keynote address and the historians' panel at the 2022 Rural and Cotton History Conference. 

The 26th annual Cotton & Rural History Conference is scheduled for October 29, 2022 from 10am-1:30pm at the Audie Murphy American Cotton Museum in Greenville, Texas.
Those unable to attend in person may attend the Keynote at 12:30pm CST in Zoom at: https://bit.ly/CottonConf 

Blake Perkins, Associate Professor of History and Associate Vice Chancellor for Academics at Arkansas State University-Beebe, is this year’s keynote speaker.  Dr. Perkins is a scholar of rural history who will present on his work Hillbilly Hellraisers: Federal Power and Populist Defiance in the Ozarks, (Illinois, 2017). Additionally, two panels of historians will present their recent research.
Registration is free. A catered barbecue lunch will be available for $12. Please RSVP by October 25 to reserve a lunch by contacting the museum  (903) 450-4502 or [email protected]. Attendees may either pre-pay or pay for lunch on site the day of the conference.
